Coming to Bayimba … Kabuye Ssemboga is a Vocalist, saxophonist and lead guitarist. He composes and arranges his own music. Kabuye began his musical journey in primary singing in the school choir. His keenness and passion for music propelled him to continue learning music theory as subject in Nyana Seminary. He picked the interest of playing a guitar at a tender age and slowly began to master the skill. At Rubaga Boys, he joined a school band known as eclipse band and school choir where he continued to nurture his musical skills.

In 1978, he joined Mascots band of Elly Wamala. He spent 10 years in the band and this is where he grew as musician, in the early years he sang copyright music of other musicians ranging from Lingala to western music. Through the training he had in the band, he slowly began to discover himself and began writing and composing his songs. He composed songs like “Saba, Saba” which earned him a cultural tour in Tanzania. Kabuye Ssemboga now performs as a solo artist on major concerts. He describes his music as Reggae Lover’s rock and draws his inspiration from lucky dube, Johnny Mash and Jimmy cliff. He is truly looking forward to his second appearance on the Bayimba stage.
