M – LISADA is a children’s home located in Nsambya, Kampala Uganda. We Began in the mid-1990’s when a handful of street kids explored their desire to learn to play the trumpet. Through perseverance an opportunity arose and a brass band, as well as a home for the street kids was born. Over time, more children were drawn to this passion and the band soon began performing at functions.
The kids were learning to support themselves via the love for music. Our cultural dancers and acrobats have been bringing a program into many primary and secondary schools in the Kampala area. While entertaining we present a message that encourages children to stay away from dangers such as drugs and peer pressure while encouraging them to work hard in school and respect their teachers and parents. This program is proving to be very popular with students as well as the administration abd teachers at each school.
