EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This being the final year of the project, we were very selective of the participants to perform at the Bayimba International Festival and Regional Festivals. The artists had reached a level where they can go through standard criteria of artists’ selection at the International and all our Regional festivals.

The Boot Camp Training was one of the best platforms to exhibit or expose the best from each region this year where Rappers were put to a test with a daily artistic mind and body fitness. In total we worked with 18 rappers representing Mbarara, Mbale, Jinja, Gulu, Arua and Kampala.

The Creative Entrepreneurship Training gave participants within the Uganda Cultures Project a special opportunity to acquire business knowledge to kick start or continue running their own creative business. The training was carried out in 4 regions. The Hip-Hop Training in Moroto is still a blessing to some of the youths in Karamoja Region, being the very first art workshop to be conducted in this area. This year’s training made some tremendous outputs as you will read in the report.
