Special Scholarship Track for Young Women (Ages 18–35)

Bayimba Foundation invites applications from passionate young women for an intensive, industry-aligned certificate program. Delivered by technical experts from Quad A Group and Steadman Global, this course is designed to turn your passion for sound into a professional career in the film and media industry.

About the Program

The creative economy in East Africa is booming, yet there is a critical shortage of professional female sound engineers. This course provides a structured pathway into the industry, covering:

  • Production: Field recording and professional dialogue capture.
  • Post-Production: Dialogue editing, ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement), and Foley.
  • Creative Sound Design: Creating immersive worlds through sound.
  • Technical Excellence: Mixing and Mastering for film/broadcast (Stereo & 5.1).

Program Structure & Accreditation

  • Duration: 3 Months intensive learning.
  • Format: Hybrid (3 weeks of immersive in-person training + online/project-based modules).
  • Accreditation: Graduates receive an Accredited Certificate (20 Credit Units) upon full completion.
  • Career Pathway: High-performing students will be fast-tracked into internship placements with leading production houses and professional film “gigs.”

Eligibility Criteria

To ensure regional impact, this call is strictly open to young women who meet the following:

  • Age: 18 – 35 years old.
  • Gender: Female.
  • Residency: Must be a resident of one of the following districts:
    Mbale, Butaleja, Mukono, Buikwe, Kayunga, Kitgum, Moroto, Fort Portal, Arua, or Gulu.
  • Interest: A demonstrable passion for film, audio, or storytelling.

How to Apply

Applications are submitted via the Programme Online Portal or via hand-delivery at designated district coordination offices.

  • Required: A copy of your National ID and a brief statement (250 words) on why you want to become an Audio Professional.
  • Deadline: 10th March 2026
