Bayimba Foundation is proud to announce a special scholarship track for the Certificate in Low Budget Film-Making (CLBF). Delivered through the legendary Wakaliwood philosophy, we are looking for the next generation of directors, editors, and action stars from: Mukono | Kayunga | Buikwe | Butaleja | Mbale | Moroto

The Mission: Full-Cycle Filmmaking

We are breaking the “high-budget” barrier. We will train you to be a Full-Cycle Filmmaker—someone who can write, shoot, edit, and promote a film using available resources.

What you will master:

  • The DIY Spirit: Mastering the “Wakaliwood Philosophy” of community-led, resourceful production.
  • Technical Skills: Storytelling, Screenwriting (CSSW), Cinematography (CIC), and Editing (CIE).
  • Action & Design: Acting for camera (CIA), stunt choreography, and DIY Special Effects (SFX) like fake blood and improvised props.
  • The Business: Marketing, Distribution, and Financial Literacy (CIMFL) to make your films go viral and profitable.

Program Structure & Accreditation

  • Duration: 3 Months (Hybrid: Online/Project-based + 3 weeks of high-intensity in-person training).
  • Certification: Accredited Certificate with 20 Credit Units (300 Total Contact Hours).
  • The Big Stage: The program culminates in a Final Project (10–15 min film) and a public screening.
  • Beyond the Classroom: High-performing graduates will be placed in internships and professional film “gigs.”

Are You One of the 200?

We are looking for passion over papers.

To apply, you must be:

  • A Young Woman: Aged 18–35.
  • A Resident: Must be from Mukono, Kayunga, Buikwe, Butaleja, Mbale, or Moroto.
