Bayimba Foundation is looking for 20 visionary women to join the first cohort of “The Game-Changer: Arts Management Training.” If you are a woman in Uganda looking to lead the next generation of festivals, galleries, music labels, or arts organizations, this scholarship is for you. We are bridging the gap between artistic passion and professional management.
The Details:
- Duration: 2-Week intensive training (online).
- Cost: Fully Funded (Scholarship-based).
- Curriculum: Strategic Planning, Institutional and Programmatic Marketing and Leadership.
- Who should apply: Current female founders, artist managers, event organizers, or aspiring creative executives.
How to Apply:
Submit a brief bio and a 300-word statement on “How I plan to change the Ugandan creative landscape” via the online application form.

Faisal KIWEWA is the visionary founder and Artistic Director of the Bayimba Foundation, an organization that has fundamentally redefined Uganda’s cultural landscape. Through a combination of strategic foresight and creative passion, Faisal has transitioned the regional arts scene from a period of stagnation into a thriving, dynamic industry. Today, Bayimba stands as a premier institution for talent development and artistic celebration, commanding respect as a household name throughout East Africa and across the international stage.
A prolific architect of cultural platforms, Faisal has been the driving force behind many of the continent’s most influential gatherings. His portfolio includes the internationally acclaimed Bayimba International Festival of the Arts, the DOADOA l East African Performing Arts Market, and the Kampala International Theatre Festival. His commitment to the cinematic arts is equally profound, evidenced by his successful revitalization of the Amakula International Film Festival. As a sought-after curator, programmer, and juror, Faisal’s expertise is a cornerstone of the global arts community.
Beyond his creative direction, Faisal is a highly regarded specialist in international cultural management, holding advanced credentials from the DeVos Institute at the Kennedy Center and the CREARE Erasmus Centre. He serves on several prestigious global boards, including Jeunesses Musicales International and the CultureCOP Steering Committee, representing African excellence on the world stage. Driven by a mission to bridge local talent with global opportunities, Faisal invites collaborators and artists alike to engage in a shared journey of professional growth and creative transformation.
