Ethno Uganda: Where Young Musicians Unite to Keep Cultural Heritage Alive

Ethno Uganda is an annual music camp held on Lunkulu Island that brings together young musicians aged 18 to 30 from around the world. As part of the global Ethno World program, it focuses on preserving cultural heritage through traditional and folk music.

What makes Ethno Uganda unique is its peer-to-peer learning model, where participants teach each other songs, techniques, and cultural stories. This fosters not only musical growth but also empathy, understanding, and international friendships. The camp includes daily workshops, jam sessions, and performances, with opportunities to learn about Ugandan indigenous instruments and local music.

All the collaborative music created is recorded in a mobile studio, providing participants with professional recordings to support their careers and share their experiences. Ultimately, Ethno Uganda aims to empower young artists to become ambassadors of peace and cultural heritage.
